Martial Arts Bulk Price Match Australia: What a Comparable Quote Must Include

Combatra’s current Gym & Academy Orders page invites a gym to provide existing supplier or price information for a possible match-or-beat review. The offer is conditional: the written quote, product specifications, quantity, customisation and shipping must be comparable, and a human reviews the request.

This is a submission checklist for that review. It does not replace the academy’s later landed-cost and supplier-risk assessment, and it does not promise that every lower price can be matched or beaten.

Confirm that the quote is current and identifiable

Submit the complete written quote rather than one cropped unit price. It should show the issue date, validity period, supplier identity, quoted currency and enough reference information for the academy to understand what was offered.

If the quote has expired, ask the supplier to refresh it before requesting a review. Freight, exchange rates, quantities and product pricing can change. An old quote may describe a real past offer but cannot establish a current commercial comparison.

Keep the original PDF or email and provide a readable copy. Do not recreate another supplier’s figures in a new spreadsheet and present that as source evidence. A summary can accompany the quote, but the reviewer needs the current written basis.

Use the Gym & Academy Orders page for the current submission route and check its live instructions immediately before sending.

Name the exact product being compared

State whether the request covers BJJ Gis, rashguards, shorts, spats, karate uniforms, belts, MMA apparel or another team product. Record whether a Gi price includes the jacket and trousers, whether a rashguard is long- or short-sleeved and which components come with the quoted set.

Copy only the construction information that the supplier has actually stated: fabric, weave or weight, panels, reinforcement, closures, labels and included accessories. Mark missing details as β€œnot stated”. The reviewer cannot fairly equate two products by filling gaps with optimistic assumptions.

Reference the relevant current Combatra route, such as a custom BJJ rashguard, personalised BJJ Gi or custom MMA shorts. These links identify the product direction; the final bulk specification still needs written confirmation.

Provide the quantity and real size mix

Give the total quantity and the number required in each confirmed size. Combatra’s current bulk form uses ranges from under 10 through 250+, but the detailed roster helps determine what is genuinely comparable.

Separate adult, junior and any other size categories used in the current quote. Identify academy spares independently from member orders. If five pieces are still awaiting fitting, state that uncertainty instead of adding them to a confirmed total.

A quote for 30 identical adult tops may not be comparable with 30 items divided across product types, designs and size systems. If the current supplier quote bundles several products, provide its line-item structure where available.

The bulk team-order planning guide helps turn member interest into evidence without treating every early response as a final order.

Itemise artwork and personalisation

Attach the academy’s current logo files and a short placement brief. List front, back, sleeve and leg positions, colours, sponsor hierarchy and any required labels. If the competing quote includes artwork setup or revisions, show that inclusion.

Count every member name, nickname, number or other individual element. A standard academy rashguard and 30 individually named rashguards involve different work even when the garment construction is the same.

Identify what is already print-ready and what still needs design assistance. State whether the quote includes a virtual mock-up, revision allowance or physical sample. Do not use β€œfull custom” as a substitute for these details.

The custom martial arts uniform ordering guide explains why artwork approval, sizing and production release should remain separate records.

Put shipping details into the submission

Supply the Australian delivery postcode and say whether the quote covers delivery to one academy address, collection from a freight point or individual member shipments. Attach the freight line and shipping basis shown in the source quote.

Where relevant, identify whether duties, import charges, insurance or local handling sit inside or outside the quoted amount. If the document does not say, mark them unresolved. The purpose at this stage is eligibility for a comparable review, not a complete financial model.

Record the currency exactly. If the academy adds a conversion estimate, show the date and rate separately from the supplier’s original figure. Do not overwrite the source currency.

A factory-ex-works figure and a delivered Australian total cannot support a direct price-review request without the missing shipping basis. Ask for the information before submitting.

Include timing requirements without turning estimates into promises

State the academy’s required in-hand date and the reason it matters. Separate artwork, mock-up, sample, approval, production, quality check, dispatch and transit where the competing quote provides those stages.

Combatra’s current page lists a virtual mock-up usually within 2–4 business days, a physical sample at approximately 15 business days, and bulk production, quality check, packing and dispatch usually at 20–25 business days. These are current stage estimates, not a guaranteed total-delivery schedule.

Members need the gear early enough to check fit before a competition, grading or launch. Tell the reviewer the actual event date and the academy’s preferred receiving buffer rather than asking for β€œurgent” delivery without a date.

If the existing quote excludes transit or starts its production clock after approval, preserve that wording. Timing is comparable only when the start and end points are clear.

Attach a concise comparison cover sheet

Place the submission facts on one page: quote date and validity, supplier, product, construction, quantity, size mix, artwork, personalisation, currency, freight basis, destination and required timing. Link each summary field back to the source document or mark it unresolved.

Add the academy contact authorised to answer questions. Multiple coaches sending different versions can delay review and undermine the comparison. Give the cover sheet a version number and keep its attachments together.

Do not declare that the quotes are equivalent on the cover sheet. Ask for review. Combatra may need to clarify product construction, sample scope, freight or another difference before deciding whether a match or beat is possible.

The clean submission saves time because the reviewer can see both the claimed equivalence and the evidence supporting it.

Understand what the review can and cannot decide

A successful review can establish whether Combatra can offer a matching or better price for the comparable request assessed. It does not create a standing promise for future sizes, quantities, artwork changes, freight conditions or reorders.

If the specification changes after review, request an updated written response. Do not apply an old unit price to a new product mix. Keep the reviewed quote, approved specification and any revised offer together.

Price is only one purchasing input. After the eligibility review, the academy should still assess payment terms, total payable cost, approval control, timeline, support and remaining risk. That broader decision belongs in a separate supplier-comparison process.

Combatra’s page currently lists payment options including 50/50 payments, Afterpay and PayPal. Confirm which, if any, applies to the exact written order.

As checked on 28 September 2026, the official ABN Lookup record for COMBATRA PTY LTD showed active ABN 59 702 008 384 and Australian Private Company status. Recheck the official record and the live wholesale page on publication day because business and offer details can change.

Registration supports identity verification; it does not guarantee a price outcome or replace review of the written order. Before payment, confirm the payee details through a trusted channel and retain the quote, invoice, proof approval and payment evidence.

The academy should also check that the final offer still refers to the same product, quantity, artwork and destination submitted for review. Any unresolved difference belongs in writing before approval.

Record the person who completed that recheck, the date and the source URL in the publication file. This prevents a dated company-status statement or changed wholesale offer from being repeated later as if it were permanent.

Frequently asked questions

Does Combatra guarantee it will beat my supplier’s price?

No. The current offer is a manual review subject to a current comparable written quote, product specifications, quantities, customisation, shipping and other relevant terms.

Can an academy submit an overseas quote?

Yes, but include its currency, freight, duties or import basis, destination and delivery requirements so the commercial scope can be compared.

Is a screenshot of a unit price enough?

Usually not. Supply the complete current written quote and the product, quantity, artwork, personalisation and shipping details behind that number.

What if our member quantity is not final?

Label confirmed and pending quantities separately. A preliminary review may help planning, but a final offer can change with the quantity and size mix.

Should we include a physical sample in the request?

State whether the competing quote includes one and whether your academy requires one. The current product and written order determine the applicable sample route.

What happens after a price review?

Review the exact written outcome, verify that specifications still match and complete the academy’s wider assessment of total cost, timing, approval control and support before ordering.
